SUMMER INTENSIVE WORKSHOP

August 17-21, 2020

An intensive experience immersing dancers in the repertory and dynamic, powerful style of XAOC Contemporary Ballet. The Company has performed its electric repertory across the NYC-metro area for the past ten years, with residencies, commissions, and performances at Jacob's Pillow, Battery Dance Festival, NY City Center Studios, UNCSA, NYC Summer Streets, and more.

Dancers receive classes and workshops in contemporary ballet technique, company repertory, and creative exploration in classical forms. Classes and workshops are taught by XAOC Contemporary Ballet Artistic Director & Choreographer Eryn Renee Young as well as company dancers.

Open to men and women ages 16+ with advanced ballet technique. Women must be comfortable on pointe.

TUITION:

$500 - early bird registration prior to June 1, 2020

$600 - registration after June 1, 2020

HOURS:

The Intensive Workshop runs from 2-6pm, Monday to Friday.

SAMPLE SCHEDULE:

2:00-3:30pm Contemporary Ballet Technique

3:30-5:00pm Company Repertory

5:00-6:00pm Creative Workshop

Creative Workshop may include Contemporary Ballet Partnering / Composition / Floorwork or other contemporary classical forms.

DRESS CODE:

Dancers should wear fitted classical ballet attire. Leotard and tights preferred (any color or style). Women should bring pointe shoes.

HOUSING:

XAOC Contemporary does not provide housing or meals.

A resource guide to housing options can be provided upon request.

Interested dancers may be considered for company positions for XAOC Contemporary Ballet's 2020/2021 Season.

Dancers may schedule separate sessions during the Intensive dates for creation of custom choreography for audition solos, BFA senior solos, and ballet competition pieces. Additional fees apply and limited availability.

Summer Intensive Workshop: About Us

Refund Policy:

No refunds are offered, except in the case where a student pays in full and suffers an injury prior to the start of the Intensive Workshop, and provides documentation from a physician attesting that the student is unable to dance. In that case, student will receive a tuition refund less a 15% processing fee.

XAOC Contemporary Ballet reserves the right to cancel the Intensive Workshop if enrollment is insufficient. In such an event, students will receive a full refund.
